Jan. 27 Welcome to Germany!

Daily Doings The mister had a hectic day and could only call us right before bed. It was almost 10pm his time when we ended our call. Needless to say, it was short and sweet. It was LOVELY to have so many people on our late-night video chat. It was lively entertainment for sure. We had Cousin Miriam in Idaho, Me, Tristan, Emery, and Aveline at home in Virginia, and Daddy driving home from Maryland. It was loud, raucous, and fabulous.   Elder Heilmann told us about a naughty cat named Diamond that likes to open doors and jump onto shoulders. It's a Devon Rex cat. It sounds like my kind of cat! Never heard of one, and now I am in love.   Elders' Heilmann and Wright had to spend most of their Pday registering Elder Wright into Krefeld. They will have to de-register him in a few weeks as he prepares to go home, but rules are rules! The registration is not a complex process, just time-consuming at times.  They also had time for a quick haircut, and now the companion...

Jan. 20 (no call on Jan 13): Spread that Gospel!

Daily Doings  We didn't get a chance to chat with Elder Heilmann last week, although he did take the opportunity to call Tristan, which was cool. This week, the light is back in his eyes, and the extreme fatigue has passed, thank goodness. As we chatted, the Elders were looking up tablature for Guitar songs. Elder Heilmann acquired a guitar and is glad to be playing music again.   Today, they had the opportunity to meet up with the Duisburg Elders, and they all went bowling! Elder Heilmann says that Germany is stuck in '80s and '90s American culture, and they have skating rinks, "skater diners," and bowling alleys everywhere. I think it sounds AWESOME!  Missionary Work The Elders are working hard but are also meeting with contention and trouble. They met with a Muslim gentleman, and they were all excited about it. However, lately, their visits have been all about defending the Gospel, the Bible, and the Book of Mormon.   True to his word, Elder Heilmann too...

Jan. 6th: Short and Sweet...cause we need a nap

Daily Doings This great shot of Elder Wright says it all. The Elder's are POOPED! Christmas, New Year, and Missionary Work. Just beyond the mark, tired.  Today was a very short chat. Elder Heilmann was visibly wilting on the call. We could tell it was taking his all just to chat with us, so we entertained him more than anything.   The Ward Mission Leader invited them over for dinner after their appointment with him this evening. He lives in the middle of the forest, and the bus out there only comes once an hour. Hopefully, they both sleep on the bus for a bit. Sounds like a long night is ahead.   Elder Heilmann has decided it's time to up his game with his morgensport (morning sports) to work off all of his Christmas weight. He has been consistent with his daily yoga stretches, but "it's time to get serious," he says. He knows he isn't an Elder Mahoney who worked out 1.5 hours every morning and evening. Still, he was definitely inspired to try harder. (Remembe...
